Currently we don't provide phone support in order to keep our prices lower. All support related issues should be submitted via the Support Center or sent via any of Instant Messengers.

Do you support JSP, ASP or Cold Fusion?
No, our servers are UNIX-based and we do not support ASP or Cold Fusion. These are only supported on Microsoft's Windows NT platform. As a UNIX system, we do of course support PHP, Perl, and MySQL.

Do I get my own CGI-BIN ?
Yes, you have your own CGI-BIN and can upload via FTP or our file manager your own cgi scripts.

Do you host international domain names (.cc, .nu, .to, etc.) ?
Yes, we do host international domain names. It is up to you to contact the registrar of your country and have them point your domain name to our nameservers. Once this pointing process has been completed, we will take care of the rest.

Do you offer domain name registration?
Yes, we can register any new domains for you at the low price of only $8.95/year. FastHost can currently register .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us, .co.uk, .me.uk, .org.uk, .plc.uk, .ltd.uk, .ca, .it, .nl, .de, domain names.

Can I host IRC Services?
No, IRC is not allowed on our Network.

Can I access my domain name with and without the www?
Yes, you will be able to access your domain name with or without the 'www.' Many Web hosting providers now provide this capability. This means that you can access your domain name by going to "www.yourdomain.com" or "yourdomain.com".

How long does it take to setup my new account?
This is process normally takes a few hours, as long as your credit card is approved. You will receive your welcome and set-up information by email. Remember, it can take longer for your domain name to point to your new account. However, as soon as you receive your welcome message by email, you are ready to use your new account with your temporary address.

How many e-mail addresses do I get?
You can use up to 999 email addresses, which can point to POP3 accounts on our servers, or forward to other email addresses.

Is my account permitted to have commercial material?
Yes, definitely. We have clients whose material range from personal to corporate information. However, we do not allow spam, warez or illegal content with our services. See our terms of service for details.

How long does it take to get my domain working?
If you ordered a new domain name through us, it will take 24-48 hours. If you are transferring an existing domain name to FastHost, it will take a few minutes after you make the DNS change with your registrar.

How do I see if the domain name I want is available?

How do I transfer files to my site?
You can use any FTP software, FrontPage, or other compatible products to transfer your files to our servers.

Will you place any ads on my site?
No, you have full control of your website and will never be required to put any of our advertisements on it. We don't place pop-ups on your site, either. You and you alone are responsible for your site's content -- we won't put anything there!

Do your servers run UNIX or Windows NT?
All of our servers are UNIX-based (Linux). We do not operate any servers on the Windows NT platform.

Do you offer dedicated servers or co-locations?
No, we do not offer dedicated servers or server co-location.

What will happen to my site if I exceed bandwidth limit?
If you exceed bandwidth usage your site will be suspend until you buy more bandwidth or reach end of the month.

How do I transfer my domain name to FastHost without experiencing any downtime?
To avoid downtime, please follow these procedures:

1) Sign up for a Web hosting account using our online order form. Once your account is setup, you will receive an e-mail from us with your FTP login information.
Next, upload all of your files to our Web server.

2) After you're done uploading your files, contact your domain name registrar and have your domain name pointed to our DNS numbers indicated below:

Primary Server Hostname:      NS1.FASTHOST.COM
Secondary Server Hostname: NS2.FASTHOST.COM

3) Now, be patient. It will take few minutes for your registrar to update their DNS (the amount of actual time varies by registrar). Once it's updated, your domain name will point to your new website that is hosted on FastHost's servers automatically.

4) If you use e-mail associated with the domain name, we recommend you check mail at both locations (with your previous hosting company and on our mail server). Once you confirm that all e-mail settings and your website are properly pointed to FastHost, go ahead and cancel your account with your previous hosting company.
